‘Greet PM Modi with garland of 80 beads’: Yogi Adityanath’s clarion call for NDA’s clean sweep in UP

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed events in Hathras and Bulandshahr ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Drishti Mail, Meerut: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday referred to those who criticise Prime Minister Narendra Modi as obstacles to the country’s development. He urged the public to eliminate these hindrances to help Modi lead India towards becoming a developed nation.

During a ‘Prabudh Varg Sammelan’ in Hathras town, Adityanath said, “Prepare yourself to work under the leadership of Modiji from today onwards and work in Hathras to make an atmosphere so that the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections turn out to be a one-sided affair favouring the BJP. This election is between those for whom their families are the priority and those for whom the nation comes first. The whole country has trust in Modiji, and it is your duty to greet our PM with a garland of 80 beads (read seats) from Uttar Pradesh during this election,” said Adityanath.

Uttar Pradesh has the highest representation in the Lok Sabha, with 80 seats. In 2019, the BJP and its allies won 64 seats, of which the BJP had 62.

In Hathras, the BJP has denied a ticket to the sitting MP Rajveer Singh Diler. In his place, Anoop Pradhan Balmiki, a minister in the Yogi government, will test the waters this time. The polling will be held here on May 7 in the third phase.

In a bid to pacify the sitting MP’s supporters, Adityanath said, “This is an internal mechanism of the party that has decided to replace Diler with Balmiki. I am happy to see that the sitting MP is also present on the rostrum with me today, and it shows that he has accepted the decision of the party leadership like a true soldier.”

“One vote will bring Modi ji back to power for the third successive term, and within three years, Bharat will become the third-largest economy in the world. But the BJP and allies can cross the 400-seat mark only when the party wrests all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

He also claimed that all the parties that have so far governed the country have been playing the politics of nepotism because, for them, the economic development of their families was the sole guiding force while in power. “However, Modiji said that 140 crore people in the country are his family. He not only worked for the development of his family of 140 crore but also toiled hard to preserve our rich religious and cultural heritage. It is because of Modiji that Ayodhya has seen a magnificent temple for Lord Ram, which has been a dream for many generations,” said the chief minister.

Addressing another meeting in Bulandshahr, Adityanath said that before his government came into power in 2017, Bulandshahr had become a synonym for fear and terror.

“This district was facing a crisis of identity at that time, and development works were at a standstill, but the scenario changed when the BJP government assumed command of the state in 2017. Your one vote in the right hands and to the right party has made the impossible possible. The Uttar Pradesh is now racing ahead in the development race and attracting investments worth several lakh crores,” said the chief minister.

The BJP has decided to field sitting MP Dr Bhola Singh for a third successive time in the Bulandshahr Lok Sabha seat. Voting will take place in the second phase on April 26.

“Each of you should consider himself Dr Bhola Singh and a representative of PM Modiji to seek vote for the party by knocking on every door in your respective region,” said Adityanath.
